Our History

Dun-Bri Group's journey began in 1989 when Mike and Jane Roberts started the company in their own garage. At that time, it was Britain's only specialist commercial vehicle lighting company, and it remains so to this day. Jane fondly recalls hiring their first employee in 1994, who was tasked with measuring out 50m lengths of conduit around the trees in front of their house on his very first day. Their stock, including those rolls of conduit, was kept in a container at the bottom of the garden.

Today, that very first employee is still an integral part of the Dun-Bri Group. Based in Buntingford, he is now part of a dedicated team that supplies thousands of different auto-electrical products to customers across Europe.

Over the years, the company has come a long way from the Roberts' family garage. It now operates from a 13,000 square-foot purpose-built warehouse housing over 10,000 items of stock (pictured right). Additionally, the Dun-Bri Group has expanded its reach with multiple branches across the United Kingdom. Despite the growth and success, the company continues to uphold the high standards of customer service that are characteristic of a family business.

Our Name

Ever wondered where the company name comes from? It's a delightful family affair. Mike and Jane formed it by combining the unusual second names of their two sons: Dunbar and Bhryce.

Leadership

In 2013, Andrew Strath became the Managing Director of Dun-Bri Group, bringing with him a wealth of experience and dedication to the company. Starting as a Sales Representative, Andrew's commitment and leadership skills led him to assume the role of Managing Director. Under his guidance, the Dun-Bri Group has experienced significant change and expansion, including the successful launch of the Wakefield branch and trade counter for the Group, known as Dun-Bri Yorkshire.
