The ERD unit simplifies the installation and power of accessories on the vehicle. The unit determines when the engine is running, and when running, it turns on a relay to automatically power accessories directly from the vehicle battery. The unit is mounted on the engine compartment where it’s easy to access to the battery vehicle. When the engine has stopped the relay is switched to its off state and disconnects the accessory, then ERD stand in powered up in low power mode to prevent battery discharge. Typical installation: Daytime Running Lamps.
- Daytime Running Lights (DRL) installation: The unit allows to take the DRL supply directly from the battery clamps and drastically reduce the time to install especially on vehicle without an easy access to the ignition input +15 (main application).
- Caravan/Camper: used to power devices with high current consumption only when the vehicle engine is running and the alternator is charging the battery.
